Katherine Heigl discusses how growing up within a "white bubble" has impacted the way that she raised her family of multiracial origins. In an interview with the "Firefly Lane", as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress admitted that her appearance didn't concern her. But after speaking to her adopted sister in South Korea about how society treated them, she became aware of how much different the two were. "I asked Meg whether she felt that she was treated differently when going out with our parents and those who went out on her own. Meg replied "Oh Yes! All the time!" This made me realize I was naive," Heigl said to her parents. She confessed that she was angry and felt the need to use this anger to help her children. Heigl along with her husband of 13 years -- singer Josh Kelley -- have an infant son, aged 4 years old. Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. Their daughter Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009; Adalaide is an Black 8-year-old girl who adopted in the year 2012.
