Jennifer Garner was born on 17 April 1972 from Houston, Texas but was raised within Charleston, West Virginia. Her dad, William John Garner, was a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner taught in a college near her. The father of her was an engineer in the chemical industry so she wanted to be as skilled as her father. In order to pursue her dream of acting and pursue her acting career, she decided to relocate to New York and try her acting career in the world of acting in Hollywood. Her Broadway performances were followed by a job at a local establishment. Her husband of the first time Scott Foley met her on the TV show "Felicity," where she was a guest. Garner made her debut in Alias which is an action-thriller. Her debut role was the widely-praised love story 13 Going on 30. In it she played the teenager trapped inside a 30years old body. Garner decided to choose Gary Winick to direct the film, and they kept looking for new films together up until the time of his death in 2011. Garner was made an ambassador for artists in 2011 by Save the Children U.S.A. Apart from the promotion of early education, literacy and nutrition at the local level, the role of Garner involves promoting nationwide literacy. In 2014, Garner has been a part of the board of trustees for this organization, pushing for early learning for children. Garner has visited many families as part of Early Steps to School Success the program created for parents to learn how to help their child's learning - as an ambassador.
