April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4th April, 1995. As a seventh-grade student, she started taking guitar lessons and piano lessons. This ignited her passion to write songs. The first song she wrote was called Different, which she wrote when she was 12 years old. At the age of 14, April spent a lot of time to creating song concepts and practicing the music she was playing. Soon, April began to take trips to NY and LA with her Dad to help them compose songs. April was the month that she began to write about other issues in Take My Hand for the people in her life who are struggling in the face of peer pressure, disability or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is a partner at popular clean beauty brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle blogger with her own growing following. The disability she has is part of her personality, but it's not all of the picture. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't conceal her handicap, but it doesn't concentrate solely on the issue. What message is it trying to convey? It's this That we all carry multiple identities and are way more diverse than we think we're. Lockhart tells Lockhart via video "I don't think that should define me. It's not my intention to be an influencer on disability because I have plenty to offer." And it doesn't affect my everyday life. I go about every day as normal and have found my own way to adjust to things. But, I consider it to be a vital part of myself. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay striving to be self-accepting. She admits that she has had periods where she felt uncomfortable in wearing certain clothing styles which displayed her arms. She now wears any outfit she wishes and shares pictures on her Facebook page with pride. It's a journey is what I'm not sure if will ever be the end about self-love. It's the same for everybody regardless of the level of insecurity. The people you surround yourself with who truly know you and see inside your soul are the best people to help you remember what you're concerned about.
